Scaling Efficiency Through Modern Design and Intuitive Workflows
Overview
A leading global provider in AV infrastructure needed to modernize its outdated customer dashboard, which had individual modules to manage returns, bids, orders, quotes, and purchasing workflows. The dashboard had an overly basic user interface that was negatively impacting user experience. Customers found it difficult to navigate the application, understand workflows, and complete actions efficiently.
The Zerozilla team delivered a comprehensive UI modernization of the customer portal integrated within the client’s existing eCommerce ecosystem. Through a structured 12-month phased approach, we transformed the interface into a modern, intuitive platform by revamping the modules for Returns, Bids, Orders, Quotes, and complete commerce flows, including Add to Cart, Checkout, Save for Later, and Quick Quotes. This modernization empowered B2B customers to manage their post-sale transactions with enhanced usability and minimal support dependency.
Problem
The existing buyer portal was creating friction in user experience and limiting customer engagement. As the platform evolved and more functionality was added, several critical issues emerged, which included customers struggling to navigate the application and understand workflows, outdated layouts making it difficult to complete actions efficiently, and confusion due to the lack of modern UI patterns.
The existing UI structure couldn’t support growing business needs. Its inconsistency restricted future enhancements, and the interface had become a bottleneck with the expanding application scope. A structured, comprehensive UI modernization became essential to ensure the platform remained scalable, maintainable, and aligned with modern enterprise usability standards while supporting the client’s digital transformation goals.
We evaluated friction points in the customer journey and identified UI limitations constraining scalability. Our team analyzed user workflows across all modules to pinpoint pain points and modernization opportunities.
Choosing the Tech
We leveraged the client's Microsoft-based infrastructure, selecting Next.js for a modern, responsive frontend while maintaining .NET Core backend integration, ensuring seamless compatibility and a cutting-edge user experience.
Tech Stack
Built with Next.js, .NET Core, and Microsoft SQL Server, integrated with SAP, Salesforce, and Sitecore. Deployed via Azure DevOps on Microsoft Azure Cloud.
Tools Used
We used Postman for API testing, GitHub for version control, Figma for UI/UX design collaboration and Jira for project management and sprint tracking.
Methodologies Involved
Agile (Scrum) with 2-week sprints, daily standups, end-of-sprint demos, and embedded QA testing. This iterative approach enabled continuous feedback and adaptation throughout the 12-month project.
